Inside Sketchbooks & Explorations
Welcome to My Sketchbooks & Explorations Gallery!
As artists, we spend so much time perfecting our “final” pieces that we often forget to share the messy, beautiful, and raw journey that gets us there. Today, I am absolutely thrilled to announce a brand-new section on my website: the ‘Sketchbooks & Explorations’ gallery!
3 Swans Pencil Sketch
Pencil on Paper. 2019
This new page is a visual diary spanning decades of my life as a working artist. It’s an unfiltered look behind the scenes, and I wanted to share a little sneak peek of what you will find inside the archives:
The Reality of the Canvas: You’ll notice unique circular formats, panoramic views, and a real mix of canvas grains. Why? Because over the years, my materials were often dictated by the ebb and flow of an artist’s budget! It is a true, honest reflection of the working creator’s life.
Early Inspirations & Roots: We are going way back! You will find my early deep-space and Star Trek-inspired “mythos” experiments, one of my very first attempts at a classical oil copy (a study of Jacob van Ruisdael’s dramatic ‘Rough Sea at a Jetty’), and yes... even a childhood Easter Bunny painting from when I was six years old!
Raw Emotions & Abandoned Art: A sketchbook is a safe place to let your guard down. I’ve included a “Mood & Attitude” section featuring raw, graffiti-style expressions, as well as a collection of abandoned and lost artworks. So many artists hide the pieces that didn’t quite make it to the finish line, but I believe those are the moments where the most learning happens.
The Personal & The Playful: Alongside fundamental animal and nature studies, I’ve opened up a private collection of artworks painted specifically for my children and granddaughter. You might even spot some fun, retro pop-art pieces paying homage to icons like Betty Boop and Jessica Rabbit!

This gallery isn’t just about showing off polished skills; it’s about showing the heart, the history, and the reality behind the art.
I would absolutely love for you to step inside the sketchbook and take a look around. Head over to the gallery page to explore the new archives!
